The federal riding of Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa (DSRN), with an area of over 56,820 square kilometres, is one of the largest in Canada. Our constituency is home to just over 87,000 people and there were 61,579 eligible voters in the 2015 election. The major census subdivisions (as determined by Statistics Canada) are Dauphin, Swan River, Neepawa, Sandy Bay, and Minnedosa. There are numerous smaller communities, villages and hamlets as well as farmers and other landholders distributed throughout the riding. There are also 11 aboriginal communities. DSRN is home to a diversified and productive agricultural sector and our farmers grow a wide variety of crops and livestock. There are numerous value-added agricultural processing businesses as well. Commercial forestry is important in the northern section of the riding while tourism, fishing (commercial and angling), hunting, and government services employ large numbers of people.
